A good start for student writing
Community Review for Writing Prompts for Kids
My Take
I enjoy how there are different options in general to help select the right prompt for the student. Categories surrounding the situation, setting, characters, etc. are all helpful to help students start thinking. However, the options are set so every student has to use these, meaning they are not customizable down to the liking of a specific student. I also think the "better words" section is a great idea, leaving easy access for kids to find adjectives and substitutes to the word they are thinking of directly.
How I Use It
I would like to use this in order to help kids brainstorm. When I was younger, I remember struggling to write pieces, even when prompts were directly given. Fears of lack of creativity dislike from those reading my work often took over in my mind, so I would be stuck. Using this can allow for kids to look at several prompts instead of just one, allowing for them to think creatively from multiple perspectives for multiple situations.
