My Take

The curriculum itself is not necessarily bad, but it is not a good curriculum to use when you teach each course in a semester. There is not near enough practice for mastery. The Mathia does have great teaching aides, but as we all know, if you do not physically use a paper and pencil, most students do not retain the content.
My final and biggest issue is the number of mistakes I have found in the student Geometry edition. Almost every lesson has glaring issues. The mistakes may be small, but they can cause huge issues in understanding if a student was not present during class for the corrections that I give them. I had several students incorrectly learn the distance formula because they were not present in class and the example did not substitute the (x,y) values correctly into the distance formula. I expect a professional publishing company to proofread their books before they publish. I don't have the time, nor am I paid, to do their editing for them.

How I Use It

My district purchased this curriculum a few years ago and I am finally being required to use it. This is the first year of using it in its entirety. For background information, I teach at a school that completes a full course per semester.
