My Take

This is a great teaching tool in conjunction with other content. It provides students an opportunity to be creative, to explore, and to try in a safe and interesting platform. It also provides a host of other resources for students to explore and learn about design. I see this more as something to use as an extension or even a support at home, which can encourage learning anytime/anywhere.

How I Use It

Students can explore the world of design (film, animation, environmental, interior) through informational text, images, history and activities. This is a great resource for a Genius Hour project or if a student wants to dabble in different types of design. This is also a great resource to teach students design thinking and design principles in terms of a larger context and to encourage them to actually think like designers. I would use this especially if I wanted my students to understand the process of design before moving forward with real work.
