I think this is a good teaching tool as long as the students are given direction and guidelines ahead of time so that they aren't off on another site and lost. It could stand to be a little more interactive. The information and poems, as well as the ready made lesson plans, are very useful. I think in the SAMR model, this actual website is a substitution for the literature book poems unless used correctly. If taken further, however, the teacher can take it all the way to the redefinition level by adding on extension activities that allow for students to critique and share.

It's true that there's a paucity of lesson plans and resources specifically for the classroom, but the database of poems and articles is unbeatable. There's a deep and rich diversity in subject matter, ethnicity, and time. I especially appreciate the ever-expanding selection of contemporary poems. Every poem is tagged into several relevant categories, so it's easy to peruse by author, topic, era, or form. Many poems also come with recorded audio readings, and some are also accompanied by animated videos.

I liked this site as a way to find poems that I might not find elsewhere. I like that we can search easily by topic, author or style. I would like to find an easier way to search by reading target, not just by style. If you have the time to search, go for it, you will find it worth it.
