Our digital footprint is a collection of our online experiences and daily routines, so everything we do on devices—share photos, post comments, send money, tag locations—can leave a lasting trail of info about us. As your kids begin sharing content or engaging with others online, talk to them about how they want to present themselves, and what they want to leave behind for people (or companies) to know about them. Together, try searching your names to see what pops up and if you're comfortable with it. Discuss your family's rules for what's OK to share online.
