“I have been blessed in ways that are indescribable since [becoming] recognized as a Common Sense Ambassador alongside [others] who share a similar passion around digital citizenship, well-being, and navigating digital spaces."
"Being a Common Sense Ambassador has been an amazing professional learning experience and network. This group of educators is committed, as am I, to ensuring our students and colleagues are knowledgeable about digital citizenship."
"Being connected through Common Sense Education provides me the ability to collaborate with people and resources that I otherwise wouldn't have access to.”
Any K–12 educator who is willing to fulfill the program commitments is welcome to apply!
All applicants should first be:
A registered user on Common Sense Media's education website.
Familiar with our Digital Citizenship and Digital Literacy curricula.
Excited and passionate about joining a movement of like-minded educators to share these free resources with others.
No, the program is free. Beyond the free resources Common Sense Media already provides to all educators, Ambassadors receive additional resources and support to help them amplify, toolkits, and community support at no cost.
Ambassadors commit to attending our quarterly virtual meetups (i.e. Zoom or Google Meet), regular participation in our virtual SLACK community, and helping extend the reach of Common Sense Media’s mission via actions in your school, district, region, or beyond.
Engagement options are flexible. They can be as simple as helping boost the signal of a social media post, or a much larger commitment like presenting on our behalf at an in-person conference. There are also many engagement options that fall in-between these two examples.
First and foremost, Educator Ambassadors get access to an engaged and knowledgeable community of like-minded peers. Ambassadors will also receive ready-made resources and toolkits to help them educate and inspire others to take action, exclusive access to Common Sense Media's experts and staff, and – among other perks – a snazzy Educator Ambassador badge to showcase your commitment to supporting students' digital literacy and well-being!
Each Educator Ambassador cohort runs from August through June, with an orientation for all Ambassadors (new and returning) in August. The program pauses during the summer months while applications are open for the next school year's cohort.
