Basic city simulation; not as good as the originals
Community Review for SimCity BuildIt
My Take
While SimCity Buildit looked to be a quick way to simulate a city and have the students work on contraction, design, and management; it ultimately proved to be too much hassle to continue the project. The original SimCity games provided an amazing experience that could be brought into the classroom quickly and easily to help students begin to understand the inner-workings and management of a city. SimCity BuildIt does not.
How I Use It
SimCity BuildIt provided a basic city simulation for my student to try out. The tutorial did a good job walking them through the basics and getting them started with the construction of their city. They were able to build the most basic of items, but the wait to gain rewards to continue their progress was a hinderance. They struggled because of the time they had to wait in between building things to obtain needed resources and currency (without having to purchase what they needed through In-App Purchases). The time it was going to take for them to fully develop cities in the way we had discussed was not feasible given these limitations.
