My Take
I've used Seesaw with students/families for years. Students are able to type, record their voice, videos, sort, and more. It's streamlined and simple. Best of all it works across all platforms for free for the users. Families can see their children's work instantly and leave comments on it. What a learning loop that provides! It's great for every subject as well. Honestly, I haven't seen a better tool out there.
How I Use It
I've created my own learning templates for students to fill out - think graphic organizers. I've also had students take photos/videos to add to their portfolio with their own choices of what's included. Families see work instantly and leave comments on their kids' work. It's incredible.

Simple, but Powerful!
Positives:
easy to use even by primary aged children, contains an abundance of tools for children to use, uses safeguards for security of content, the simple version is free, the more advanced version (Seesaw for Schools) keeps adding to the tools and academic content, recent additions to Seesaw for Schools include SEL content along with STEM and English as a Second Language content.
Negatives:
Seesaw for Schools has priced itself out of the range of many schools

Amazing Venue for Connections
It is a great resource that keeps gets better! The creators always take the educator feedback and improve the app. Posting student work is easy, family messaging is so handy, group and individual learning tasks are easy to create or you can pick from a library that is already created!
