My Take

I feel as though Quento is an app that some students will enjoy and use for awhile, but it is very limited and lacks appeal quickly. If it included multiplication and division, if it were a bit more engaging, or if it had more levels/activities it would benefit a larger variety of students. As it is, the usefulness of this app as a teaching tool is severely limited. It is best suited as a resource for my students.

How I Use It

This app is simple to use and it is challenging, but the combination of those two factors can easily make it frustrating for some students. With very little direction, no hints, and increasing challenging problems, students who were not puzzle lovers quickly lost interest. It doesn't have the ability to "reset" back to the basic level which makes it difficult to use in centers with multiple students, and there really is very little ability to differentiate the activities. Therefore I use Quento on a supplemental basis in my classrooms. It is an app that I allow students to use in their free time, but it is not required.
