My Take
Nearpod is a truly engaging tool that should be in every teacher's toolbox. It is the perfect way to utilize student devices and is easy to join for any age. If you haven't used Nearpod with students, you should. It provides added engagement not only for students, but also for teachers. Every year, more is built into the tool. Nearpod is very responsive to feedback and is always willing to listen to suggestions to strengthen their awesome tool!
How I Use It
Nearpod is an excellent engagement tool. The students all have the opportunity to participate and their participation is the drive for the discussion. No more depending on the hand-raisers! The students join a session through a PIN that is generated when the teacher launches the session. From there, slides are projected onto student devices and the teacher can get feedback from every student through interactive activities like annotation (Draw it!), quizzes, open-ended questions, and polls. Virtual Reality is also a great option when using Nearpod. Students can visit almost anywhere in the world and a few spots in outer space! Nearpod works with any device (iOS/Android/Chromebook) or computer.
