My Take
Mystery Science is an excellent teaching tool. It allows students to work at their own pace. Lessons and videos are clear, concise, colorful and entertaining. Videos allow time for thinking and reflecting on the information presented. And the best part is that students have a hands on lab project with each lesson. I teach science to a large number of third graders and using Mystery Science will take the mystery out of how to best present information to my students and be an organized and easy way to conduct experiments. I love this resource!
How I Use It
I teach science to a large number of third graders. Keeping them interested is, of course, a challenge. While they love hands on projects, I went crazy trying to find a way to give them the steps to a project so that I wasn't repeating myself over and over. The beauty of Mystery Science is the kids can work independently or in groups and can work at their own pace. It will make "lab" work much more manageable.
