My Take

OneNote can change the way that teachers operate in their classroom, given the proper exposure and time to learn the product. OneNote enabled me to eliminate the numerous three ring binders scattered on my desk and still stay just as organized in my duties. The recent addition of an Add-In for OneNote 2013 and newer on the PC makes the Classroom Notebook tool even easier to use (a version of the Mac should be available soon). Microsoft has a real winner on their hands with OneNote based on all the work and improvements that they have been able to implement over the last few years of the product.

How I Use It

OneNote allows me to stay organized as I work on various projects and build content libraries to deliver to students. The ability to create something in Word, PowerPoint, or any other software or from the web, and print directly into OneNote on both the PC and Mac makes it extremely easy to curate content and materials. Using the Classroom Notebook Creator in Office 365 for Education makes it extremely easy to distribute content and collect work and artifacts for assessment from students. The kids enjoy having immediate access to the materials in one location instead of having to hunt for physical handouts or through posts on an LMS.
