My Take

This is a very basic introduction to the alphabet. I liked the simplicity of the layout, but would have liked to see something more robust. It was noted that letter sounds were included in a related phonics app. I personally think that letter names and sounds should be taught together instead of in isolation. That being said, it could prove to be a non-threatening way to expose young children to the alphabetic principle.

How I Use It

This app was used as a choice during center time in a pre-k classroom. The students liked it at first, but quickly became bored with the same activities repeated for each letter. It might be more useful for younger students who simply like the experience of using an iPad.
