Google Translate - Beneficial for all students
Community Review for Google Translate
My Take
Google Translate is easy to use in the classroom through simple lessons such as translating a menu or writing a paper. It is an excellent tool for students to use to check their work and make sure they are interpreting the language correctly. This is also great when working with any ESL or ELL students who are having difficulties communicating. Students can use Google Translate at all levels of learning a new language. The app is easy to use for any age and skill level. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a supplement to learning a new language.
How I Use It
While Google Translate was not originally created for educational purposes, it can be very beneficial in the classroom. This app can be downloaded and used across any mobile device or utilized from a computer. Users can enter their text in English and select the language they want it translated too. The information that can be translated includes text, media, videos, and speech. The app has translations for over 100 different languages at different levels. Students even have the option of saving their translations for later use. The app even offers the option of the text being entered through an on-screen keyboard, talk to text, and speech recognition.
