My Take
This tool is feature-rich and allows for the creative expression of ideas. Having such a powerful tool can be advantageous to give the students lots of choices for creation and customization of presentations. However, it takes time to explore all the options and beginners can get overwhelmed.
How I Use It
For math, students use this tool to draw illustrations or take photos of their math problems. Then they record their explanation of how they solved their problems. With Explain Everything they can label their illustrations as they record their voice-over. Students present their findings as a slideshow to the class. I have shared these slideshows with parents using Google Drive. Parents were thrilled to see and hear their children's work. These students are building their own digital portfolios.
This app is also a powerful tool for students who are shy or unlikely to participate in whole group instruction. They can share their ideas without having to be literally in the spotlight.
