My Take
I can be a very helpful tool to have in the classroom. When a teacher, or student gets comfortable with the application, it can be used quickly and effectively without wasting instructional or project time. It is also great way to disseminate collaborative learning projects with teachers, students, and parents.
How I Use It
I have used Evernote to record the flow of student work and projects. It can also be used to present visual information with minimal writing, but I have found it more useful for storing on-demand (in the classroom) visual documents. For example, students were working on a whole class archeology project in which student models, writings, graphs, and artwork needed to be captured for both assessment and future presentations. The greatest challenge is making sure that the default email set-up on your iPad be able to send messages to education accounts--which is no fault of Evernote. I remedied this by simply sending the Evernote to myself and then sharing the link with teachers and students when needed.
