Community Review for Edheads
My Take
It has a good introduction or review of simple machines, but it isn't really a fun game for older students. I think younger students might find it more fun and stimulating though. The EdHeads site is easy to navigate and has a lot of nice tools for teachers. I recommend science teachers investigate the different topics covered as an additional resource for your classes.
How I Use It
I used the EdHeads simple machines activity to review the different types of simple machines with HS students. I assigned the activities as homework, and the students who completed them were better prepared for the class discussion and activities. If I were to teach this topic again, I would use the EdHeads activities again, but I would make time in class to ensure that all students actually complete the activities.
