My Take
The plethora of engaging environments and interactive spaces gives the students plenty to explore and makes it fun for them to revisit across instructional days. Students also are able to keep track of their activity, allowing a first foray into the development of a personal database in the early elementary grades. The personalized avatars are also a nice touch to give another shade of ownership to the experience.
How I Use It
When students have the opportunity to select literacy centers to reinforce their word knowledge and fluency skills, our classroom makes ABCmouse.com an available option. Students use the platform to explore different regions of the website, personalizing their avatar to add a sense of individuality to the experience.
