Great way to prepare for the Geography Bee, but not much else.
This app is a tremendous resource for students who are wanting to prepare to compete in the Geography Bee, but provides little value to a classroom teacher as a means of assessing students and their specific geographic knowledge. Teachers should use this app only as a means of review for the Bee and not as a part of their classroom instruction.

National Geographic App to challenge your knowledge of geography
There are three different types of levels: multiple choice, map, and photo challenges. The multiple choice questions are good practice for a geography bee. However, both the map and the photo questions are frustrating. Even when I knew the correct answer, trying to zoom in so I could click there often failed. The map screen is so sensitive, so a zoom is often mistaken as the answer submission.
I would not request my entire class to download the app. It is a paid app for both Android and iOS. The sound would also drive me crazy. There was no option location to mute the sound either.
The app is named appropriately, it is a GeoBee Challenge. For people who like knowing the right answer all the time, this app is not for you.
