Minimal features make it not worth the price
One major issue that stands out to me as a special education teacher is that in order for a student to use the Calm Counter app, they must already be calm enough to be able to focus on the story and tap through the countdown (and not chuck the iPad across the room, of course!). While the app is meant to be minimalistic and simple enough for very young children, the bare-bones nature of Calm Counter makes the price point unappealing. Still, the social story and countdown are solid strategies for students with disabilities to start learning anger management routines. Overall, this could be a good tool as a part of a larger behavior plan for students with special needs in pre-K through about third grade...if you're willing to pay for it.
