Toca Doctor is a very simplistic app that doesn't really challenge the students or activate their thinking. The kids learn about the body, but it doesn't give much information to the students which is not helping to benefit them and their learning.
Toca Doctor is a very simple app that doesn't really challenge the students or activates their thinking. The kids learn about the body, but it doesn't give much information to the students which did not help to benefit them and their learning. Honestly, I probably wouldn't use this app in my classroom nor would I recommend it.

Fun for a bit, but doesn't have real educational value
I would not use this as a teaching tool because although the app is unstructured for a reason, to allow students to explore parts of the body and how the body works, it does not allow for more instruction. If one is looking for an app that allows kids to think creatively and be engaged for a decent amount of time, this did not hold students' attention like other apps we have looked at.

Easy First Aid Only
This is a cute program and will catch the student's eye and they will enjoy doing it, but they will not be learning much more than basic first aid. Wash a cut and put on a band-aid. Nothing is said about germs, skin, etc. It may be a good program to teach students how to use the ipad or to keep them busy. Students soon complete the entire program and then are bored. Good for very young and special needs as a beginning app.
